I started my photography business in 2008, and as starting any business there are many challenges. I basically bought a Canon Rebel and said I wanted to start a photography business. Well I was faced with many obstacles. I had a huge dream, that suddenly felt unattainable. I decided to take one area at a time and master it, or at least feel like I mastered it, lol. Throughout the years I have had many people approach me for help in their business, whether it be from camera, software, or business aspects. I absolutely love helping others become successful! This is a huge passion of mine, because I have been there many times myself.
Each mentoring session will last a month…
1.) Camera basics ($300)-this will cover getting to know your camera and all of its amazing functions, basic editing, basic posing, and basic lighting. This includes 2 face to face meetings, one will be going over the camera, and then the other you will actually go on a session with me in the Lafayette area. During the month you will be able to text, email, and call with questions. You will be given homework, and I will critique images you take (of course in a nice way, lol).
2.) Starting a photography business ($400)-I will go over what equipment you need (and what you CAN start with on a tight budget-I was there!), software, creating a focus area, how to build your portfolio, how to get clients, pricing yourself, website/social media. This will include 2 face to face meetings, one where we sit and chat about where you are and where you would like to go with your business, the other meeting you will come to a session with me. I will teach you how to interact with your clients, posing, as well as some pointers on getting a good image. During the month you will be able to text, call, or email with questions. At the end of the month we will re-evaluate your next steps.
3.) Boosting your photography business ($600)-During the month we will go over your business plan, equipment and software, focus plans, how to get referrals that book, how to get a client to book, building a strong clientele, how to advertise without ever using a business card, website/social media critiqueing, image critiqueing. We will have 2 face to face meetings, many emails, texts, or calls. At the end of the month we will re-evaluate your next steps.
*These are all areas that I have learned from challenges I have faced over the years. I would love to have the opportunity to be able to help you get to where you want to be. The dream is attainable!!!
